CPOL Research Radar

Overview

CPOL is a dual-polarisation C-band radar that have been producing data since 1998. It has been referenced by a 100+ publications and it is actively used by a large community in Australia and around the world. CPOL is unique, as it is the only dual-polarisation radar in the Tropics. It has been used by NASA to calibrate the satellite TRMM.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has developed a new processing with a new quality control (that has led to scientific publications) for the CPOL dataset.

This subcollection is separated into a number of products that relate to the level of processing applied.  Please refer to the associated records linked below for more information about each product.
